Free Grant Secrets - How To Get Housing Grants

If you have children and a hard time paying the rent, here is are a few free grant secrets to help you. Did you know that you may be able to get the government to help you in this regard? If you apply to the department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) you may be able to get a grant from the government to pay for part of your rent.

In addition to helping you pay the rent, you can also use HUD to help you get a house. If you are first time home buyer and want to take advantage of a one time offer from the government, you can get a FHA loan. An FHA loan is guaranteed by the government and will allow you to put less down on your home than you would need to put down otherwise. There are other programs that are designed to help with housing needs as well.

Go to the HUD website to get let in on a free grant secret such as how the government can help you. Some of what you may be eligible for are as follows:

Section 8 Housing

Section 8 housing is where the government gives you a voucher for part of your rent. Your landlord has to approve section 8 housing before you can rent with them but most will be happy to allow Section 8 because they are guaranteed to get their rent directly from the Federal government. Section 8 housing allows people who are economically deprived to find housing.

TANF

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families will help you with your rent and also with utilities. It is a free government grant program that can be accessed through the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This is only temporary help for those with children who are under the age of 18.

WIC

If you are a single mom, you should look into the WIC program which is for women and children that allows for some rent payments as well as some financial assistance. This is for women with infants or children who are younger than school age.

FHA Loans

If you are first time home buyer, look into getting an FHA loan. In many cases, you can buy a home with little or no money down by applying for an FHA loan. An FHA loan, like any government grant, will take a bit more time than a conventional loan, but will end up saving you money in fees.

It is in the best interest of the government to assist you in getting grants for homes. However, the process to get any grant from the government is lengthy. In order to be able to get a government grant for anything, you have to have plenty of patience. Set up a folder for any grants and keep copies of all of your paperwork. One of the best free grant secrets is if you try hard enough and are persistent, you will get your grant.
